MEN’S BASKETBALL NETS THREE ALL-CONFERENCE HONOREES

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's basketball team had three Tigers earn recognition from the Chicagoland Collegiate Atheltic Conference (CCAC) for their performances this season, as the league office announced its postseason awards Monday.

Caleb Corro was named second-team all-CCAC, Eli Edwards earned all-conference honorable mention, and Tyler Curl was placed on the CCAC All-Freshman team.

Corro had a breakout season to earn his first recognition from the conference, landing on the CCAC's second team after ranking second in the conference in scoring with his 20.0 points per game average. The redshirt junior guard from Elmwood Park, Ill., also ranked sixth in the conference in assists averaging 3.3 helpers per contest.

Serving as ONU's top three-point threat, Corro knocked down a team-leading 2.7 triples per game this season while connecting at a better than 36-percent clip from deep (81-of-223). He was named the CCAC Offensive Player of the Week three times this season and scored a career-best 37 points on 13-of-21 shooting in the team's 83-73 win over Holy Cross on Feb. 12.

Despite missing multiple games midway through the season with an injury, Edwards posted career numbers this year to earn an honorable mention from the CCAC. The Kokomo, Ind., native averaged 17.4 points per game, good for second on the team, while leading ONU in rebounding with 7.9 boards per contest.

The junior forward shot better than 61 percent from the floor and reached double-digit scoring in 18 of his 19 games played this season. Edwards also recorded a team-leading five doubles-doubles on the year.

Curl is one of just five freshmen in the conference to be named to the CCAC All-Freshman Team. The guard from Fairbury, Ill., was ONU's most accurate deep threat, ranking eighth in the conference with a 43.1 three-point percentage. Curl hit multiple threes in 16 games this season, highlighted by his 7-of-9 performance from deep in ONU's record-setting 92-78 win over Trinity Christian on Feb. 15.
