PATEL AND NIETO DOMINATE DOUBLES AS TIGERS DROP TWO MATCHES

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Olivet Nazarene Univeristy women's tennis team continued their spring schedule with a pair of matches on Friday. The Tigers fell 4-3 to Missouri Baptist and 4-0 to Midland.

Missouri Baptist 4, Olivet Nazarene 3

Starting with doubles, Nirva Patel and Natasha Nieto picked up the 6-2 win in the top match. The second match loss for Chieh-Yu Chen and Rachel Shuflit proved to be the deciding match as the No. 3 slot was empty for ONU.

The Tigers swept the top-three singles matches. Patel took down Nin Vasiljkovic 6-0, 6-1, Nieto down Faith Griese 6-0, 7-5, and Chen defeated Genie Hong 6-3, 6-0.

But Spartan wins in the fourth and fifth matches and a vacancy in the pivotal sixth match gave ONU the match loss.
