NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Olivet Nazarene (IL) (10-4, 6-0) secured a decisive 92-74 victory over Holy Cross (5-9, 0-6) on Saturday at McKenna Arena. The Tigers maintained a strong offensive performance, shooting 54.4% from the field and achieving a large lead of 27 points in the second half.
The game commenced with Olivet Nazarene swiftly taking an early lead, fueled by a 3-pointer from Mason Wood at 15:48, contributing to a 5-point advantage at 15:17. Despite a brief surge from Holy Cross, which saw them take a 10-point lead at 5:44, the Tigers responded with a critical run. Andrew Bennett's 3-pointer at 2:32 initiated the comeback, and a decisive jumper by Dylan Fey with just 3 seconds left ensured the Tigers held a 43-38 lead at the end of the first half.
Olivet Nazarene extended their lead significantly during the second half, sparked by a strong performance from Eli Edwards, who contributed multiple jumpers. Bennett played a key role with several assists and a crucial tip-in, which helped maintain the momentum. Despite Holy Cross's attempts to close the gap, the Tigers maintained control, capping the half with a 49–36 advantage. The game concluded with the Tigers securing a decisive victory, finishing 92–74.
Edwards led the team with 26 points, shooting 11-for-14 from the field, and secured 13 rebounds. Keagen Holder contributed significantly with 18 points while also dishing out eight assists and recording four steals. Wood added 14 points and collected six rebounds. Fey scored 13 points and converted 6 of 7 free throws, showcasing his effectiveness at the line.
The Tigers improved to 10-4 overall and 6-0 in conference play with the victory. Holy Cross fell to 5-9 on the season and 0-6 in conference competition.
