TIGERS EXTEND CCAC STREAK WITH ROAD VICTORY OVER INDIANA NORTHWEST

GARY, Ind. — Olivet Nazarene (IL) (12-4, 8-0) secured a 70-65 victory over Indiana Northwest (6-10, 4-4) on Saturday at the Savannah Center. The Tigers' defense contributed significantly with eight blocks, helping them maintain their lead throughout the game.

Olivet opened the first half with a strong performance, quickly recovering from an early deficit to seize control. After Indiana Northwest's Trey Steinhilber hit a 3-pointer to start the scoring, the Tigers responded with a series of effective plays, including a notable layup from Andrew Bennett at 18:54. Keagen Holder contributed significantly with a steal and a dunk, helping the Tigers build momentum.

The visiting team continued to extend their lead, highlighted by Eli Edwards' layup at 3:49, which pushed the margin to 13 points. The Tigers displayed defensive prowess with seven blocks, limiting Indiana Northwest's scoring opportunities. The half concluded with Olivet leading 35-24, setting a confident tone for the rest of the game.

Olivet extended their lead early in the second half, with Edwards scoring a layup just 26 seconds in, assisted by Holder. Despite Indiana Northwest's attempts to close the gap, including a 3-pointer by Ladaion Barnes, the Tigers maintained control through consistent free throw shooting, converting 14 out of 16 attempts in the half.

With contributions from Bennett's defense and accurate shooting, the Tigers sustained their advantage, ending the half with a five-point lead. The game concluded with Olivet defeating Indiana Northwest, 70-65.

Edwards led the team with 27 points, converting nine baskets out of 15 attempts and sinking 9 of 10 free throws. Bennett contributed 15 points and collected nine rebounds, making three of his attempts from beyond the arc. Holder added 12 points, efficiently distributing the ball with five assists and blocking three shots. Dylan Fey finished with nine points and six rebounds, making three of his six field goal attempts.

Olivet stands at 12-4 overall and 8-0 in conference play. Indiana Northwest holds a record of 6-10 overall and 4-4 in their conference.
