TIGERS SECOND HALF PUSH NOT ENOUGH AGAINST V-HAWKS

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — Olivet Nazarene (IL) (13-7, 9-3) narrowly fell to Viterbo (6-12, 4-8) with a final score of 69-64 on Saturday at McHie Arena. Despite a strong second-half performance, the Tigers could not overcome Viterbo's early 15-point lead.

The game began with Viterbo taking an early lead, capitalizing on Olivet's turnovers to establish a 10-point advantage by the end of the first half. Despite Olivet's efforts to close the gap, highlighted by Eli Edwards' scoring from the field, Viterbo maintained control. The half concluded with Viterbo leading 35-25.

In the second half, Olivet made a determined effort to close the gap, highlighted by Andrew Bennett's three-pointer at 11:12 that cut Viterbo's lead to three points. Despite trailing by as many as 15 points early, Olivet mounted a comeback led by a balanced attack from the ONU starters. The Tigers came up empty on a late possession down 3. The V-Hawks knocked down two clutch free throws, ultimately securing a 69-64 victory.

Bennett led the team with 16 points, including three 3-pointers. Edwards contributed 15 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Holder added nine points and five assists. Mason Wood posted eight points and recorded three steals.

Olivet holds a record of 13-7 overall and 9-3 in conference play. Viterbo is now 6-12 overall and 4-8 in conference competition.
