EDWARDS' 35 POINTS LEADS THE TIGERS TO A BIG CONFERENCE WIN

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — Olivet Nazarene (IL) [15-8, 11-4] secured a decisive 101-86 victory over Calumet (IN) [10-11, 6-8] on Wednesday at McHie Arena. The Tigers utilized a strong first half, outscoring the Crimson Wave 55-44, and maintained their momentum to seal the win.

Olivet began the first half by responding swiftly to an early basket from Calumet with an Eli Edwards layup assisted by Mason Wood. The Tigers' momentum accelerated with a 9–2 stretch, highlighted by a Wood 3-pointer at 18:59, giving them an early lead. The Tigers continued to extend their advantage through efficient shooting and ball movement, culminating in a significant 19-point lead by the 4:49 mark. Edwards was instrumental, contributing a series of key baskets to maintain control. The first half concluded with Olivet leading 55–44.

Olivet expanded their lead significantly early in the second half with a decisive layup from Edwards at 12:48, extending the margin to 21 points. Their offensive momentum was bolstered by multiple contributions from Edwards, who scored consistently throughout the half, and Wood, who added crucial baskets and assists. The Crimson Wave managed to narrow the gap slightly, but Olivet maintained control with a strong defensive presence and timely scoring. The game concluded with the Tigers on top, securing a 101–86 victory as the final score.

Edwards led the team with 35 points, shooting 17-for-22 from the field and adding five rebounds. Wood contributed 23 points, hitting four 3-pointers and collecting seven rebounds. Dylan Fey recorded eight assists and three steals while scoring nine points. Keagen Holder added 11 points, including six successful free throws, and dished out five assists.

The Tigers stand at 15-8 overall and 11-4 in conference play. The Crimson Wave holds a 10-11 overall record and is 6-8 in conference competition.
