TIGERS WIN AN OVERTIME THRILLER ON THE ROAD AT ST. AMBROSE

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Olivet Nazarene (IL) (17-9, 13-5) edged St. Ambrose (IA) (12-14, 9-9) with a 91-87 OT victory on Saturday at Lee Lohman Arena. The Tigers capitalized on their three-point shooting, converting 12 of 24 attempts from beyond the arc.

The game opened with Olivet establishing an early rhythm, taking a lead through a balanced scoring attack. Mason Wood was instrumental, contributing a pair of 3-pointers and a layup within the first five minutes, helping the Tigers stretch their lead to eight points at 13:37. Despite this, St. Ambrose managed to counter and briefly gained a four-point advantage at 10:22.

Olivet remained resilient, with Keagen Holder's 3-pointer at 5:28 reclaiming the lead. The half concluded, as the Fighting Bees' last-second layup evened the score at 41-41.

Olivet started the second half well with Dylan Fey's 3-pointer at 19:28, assisted by Holder, helping to maintain a narrow edge. The Tigers then embarked on a 13–2 run, highlighted by Andrew Bennett's two 3-pointers and a layup by Eli Edwards, establishing a seven-point lead at 10:26. Despite St. Ambrose closing the gap late in the half, a decisive 3-pointer from Fey with 2:50 left helped the Tigers maintain their advantage. The back and forth game ended with a 78-78 tie.

Olivet gained momentum in the extra period with a layup by Edwards, assisted by Bennett, at 4:03, taking an 80–78 lead. Fey's offensive rebound and tip-in extended their advantage to 82–80. Despite the Fighting Bees tying the score, the Tigers responded with a jumper by Bennett with 33 seconds left, regaining an 86–85 lead. Edwards sealed the victory with a layup and subsequent free throw in the final second, concluding the game at 91–87.

Edwards scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, making that his 10th double-double on the season. Wood contributed 17 points and added five rebounds, hitting four 3-pointers to aid the offense. Holder recorded 15 points and distributed eight assists, driving the team's playmaking efforts. Fey added 13 points and six rebounds, successfully converting three shots from beyond the arc.

The Tigers have a record of 17-9 overall and 13-5 in conference play. The Fighting Bees hold a record of 12-14 overall and 9-9 in conference competition.
