TIGERS SPLIT SEASON OPENER AT BETHEL

ELKHART, Ind. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's & women's swimming team opened their 2025-26 season in Elkhart, Ind., taking on Bethel Saturday afternoon. The Tigers split, leaving with a 164-70 win for the men and a 149-88 loss for the women.

 

Several newcomers for the Tigers made an immediate impact. Andrew Bellemare placed first in 200-yard freestyle (1:49.26) and Luke Johnson placed second in the 200-yard IM (2:03.60) on the men's side.

 

For the women's newcomers, Mackenzie Bushey placed second in the 100-yard breastroke (1:09.32), first in the 200-yard breaststroke, and third in the 200-yard IM, Skyler Chandlee finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (55.67), and Alyssa Osborn finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.48), and third in the 100-yard freestyle (55.69). 

 

Leading the way for the men were Jack Fries and Ethan Holwerda, who each collected a pair of first place finishes. For the women, Katelyn Inman, Mackenzie Bushey and Grace Barnhart each collected a first place finish.
