ONU TRACK & FIELD HOSTS FIRST OUTDOOR MEET OF THE SEASON

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's and women's track & field teams hosted their outdoor meet of the season when they welcomed teams to Ward Field for the ONU Tiger Open Saturday afternoon.

The Tiger women flourished in the field events Saturday, taking the top spot in three separate events. Hailey Perrine and Sophie Dagnall combined to win two jumping events, the long jump and high jump, respectively, while Amanda Gustafson was the top performer in the shot put.

Carsyn Burdine led the ONU women on the oval, bolting to an NAIA B standard time of 24.44 to win the 200m dash.

Joseph Randolph booked his automatic ticket to nationals with an automatic-qualifying time of 20.96 to win the men's 200m dash. He was also a part of both relays that hit NAIA B standards, the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay.

Austin Tice made history Saturday with a new ONU school record in the 800m run, setting the new mark of 1:51.56. The freshman won the event with that time and hit the B standard in the process.
