TWO TOP TEN FINISHERS PACE TIGERS TO SECOND PLACE IN SOUTH BEND
South Bend, Ind. – Luke Eaton and Carson Lehman led the ONU men's cross-country team to their best finish of the season, both placing inside the top seven of the 89-runner field at St. Patrick's Park in South Bend, Ind.
Both Sophomores, Eaton and Lehman, ran neck and neck through the finish line. Eaton finished with a time of 27:09.30 and in a tie for sixth place, while Lehman was not far behind at 27:13.50 to lock in the seventh place position.
Also scoring for the Tigers were junior, Tyler Nalley, sophomore, Paul Bawinkel, and senior, Vaughn Huber. Nalley clocked a 28:19.10, placing him in 14th. Bawinkel ran a 28:30.20, which was good for 20th. Rounding out the scoring was Huber, who finished 22nd with a time of 28:45.70.
The Tigers finished second as a team with a score of 69 points, which makes it their best finish of the fall season. Bethel (Ind.) took home the team title with a score of 57 points.
The Tigers return to action at the Great Lakes Invitational in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday, Oct. 25.
