TIGERS STAY UNBEATEN IN CONFERENCE WITH WIN AT JUDSON
ELGIN, Ill. — Olivet Nazarene University (5-2, 2-0) dominated Judson University (3-2, 1-1), 117-67, at Lindner Center, capitalizing on 31 steals and a 52-point contribution from their bench.
Olivet opened the first quarter by quickly capitalizing on turnovers to establish early momentum. Jayden Flagg's layup at 9:24 set the tone, and Lindsey Nell extended the lead with a three-pointer at 7:13. By the end of the quarter, the Tigers had built a substantial lead, driven by efficient shooting and strong defensive efforts, particularly in forcing the Eagles into 16 turnovers. The quarter concluded with Olivet Nazarene leading 39–12.
The Tigers surged ahead in the second quarter with a decisive 28-point performance, highlighted by Flagg's early 3-pointer at 9:21. The team capitalized on their defensive pressure by forcing multiple turnovers, leading to quick points, including a jumper from Brooklyn Marshall at 3:00. Olivet's defense stifled Judson, allowing only eight field goals and securing ten steals. The first half concluded with Olivet Nazarene holding a commanding 67–26 lead.
The Tigers continued their momentum in the third quarter with a layup by Preslee Michael at 9:01, followed by two free throws from Nell, extending their lead. Flagg contributed with a 3-pointer at 7:41, assisted by Calee Biedron. The quarter ended with Olivet leading 94–52.
The fourth quarter was more of the same for the Tigers. Judson struggled to keep pace as Olivet's defense forced turnovers and converted them into points. The game concluded with ONU winning 117-67.
Flagg scored 20 points, hitting five 3-pointers and adding four rebounds. Nell tallied 17 points, converting 7 of 8 free throws, and collected five rebounds. Marshall recorded 14 points and secured seven offensive rebounds while also registering four steals. Michael finished with 21 points and made five 3-pointers, contributing three assists to the effort.
Olivet improved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play with their decisive victory. Judson now holds a record of 3-2 overall and 1-1 in conference competition.
