TIGERBALL'S WIN STREAK COMES TO AN END AT GOVERNORS STATE
UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. — Olivet Nazarene (IL) (17-6, 13-2) fell to Governors State (15-9, 10-6), 87-73.
The game opened with Olivet taking an early advantage, establishing a 7–2 lead by 7:44 in the first quarter through strong play in the paint, highlighted by Lindsey Nell's layup and free throw. Despite Olivet's initial momentum, Governors State responded, managing to tie the quarter at 20 with a layup by Gabrielle McClain at 1:31. The first quarter ended with the game tied at 22–22.
The Tigers managed to draw even with Governors State early in the second quarter with a three-pointer by Preslee Michael at 7:48, leveling the score at 27. Despite this, Governors State's Izzy Agredano hit a crucial three-pointer at 2:32, giving them a five-point lead. The Tigers closed the gap near the end of the quarter with free throws by Ava Mikesell, bringing them within two points.
