MILLER'S FIRST HALF HAT-TRICK SPARKS TIGERS TO 5-0 WIN

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — Olivet Nazarene University (8-0-6, 6-0-5) secured a decisive 5-0 victory against Governors State University (2-9-2, 1-8-2) on Monday, with the Tigers dominating the shot count, 42-2, at Bahr Soccer Facility.

The opening period saw Olivet establish an early lead, beginning with Melea Miller's goal in the 10th minute, assisted by Sofia Diaz off of a corner kick. The Tigers maintained offensive pressure, and Miller capitalized again in the 27th minute with a second goal, this time assisted by Samantha Larsen. Continuing their momentum, Miller completed her hat trick in the 32nd minute with an assist from Jocelyn Royce, giving the Tigers a 3-0 advantage by halftime.

The Tigers extended their advantage in the second half with a goal from Siarra Sandobal in the 64th minute, assisted by Teresa Vance. Their momentum continued as Royce found the back of the net in the 72nd minute. Solid defensive work and goalkeeping by Meegan Randall maintained the Tigers' clean sheet and the game concluded with the Tigers securing a decisive 5-0 victory.

Miller scored three goals from eight shots, with five of those on target. Royce contributed both a goal and an assist while also attempting three shots, one of which was on goal. Sandobal added a goal to her tally, converting one of her two shots. Randall, in goal, recorded two saves and secured a shutout over 90 minutes of play.

The Tigers return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 29 when they host Judson for the regular season finale and senior night.
