STRONG SHOWING AT ITA REGIONALS FOR ONU TENNIS

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The ONU Tennis teams competed at the ITA Regionals in South Bend, Ind. recently and proved to be a tough out in several brackets.

Leading the charge in doubles were the men's duo of Chatton Haws and Paul Saleh, the #1 doubles team for ONU. Haws and Saleh advanced to the semi-finals of the main draw and narrowly missed out on a shot at the championship. In a nail-biting match against the tournament's overall #1 seed—and eventual champions—Haws and Saleh fell just short in a tie-breaker, 8-7 (8-6) after having three match points of their own.

Haws also competed in the singles main draw, advancing to the round of 32. He battled the #9 seed, Alecson Adriano Deschamps Junior, from Grand View University in a tightly contested match, losing in a tie-breaker: 6-3, 3-6 (10-7).

In women's singles action, Rafaela Luna reached the round of 16 in the main draw before facing Virginie Francois of Holy Cross, ultimately falling 6-4, 6-2 in a competitive match.
