No. 24 TIGERS DOMINATE HOME TURF AT MIDWEST CLASSIC

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The No. 24 Olivet Nazarene University men's cross country team kept its perfect start to the season intact, going 1-2-3 once again to take down the home Midwest Classic Friday afternoon at the Aspen Ridge Golf Course.

The Tiger trio of Flynn Prather, Brandon Armendarez, and Nick Janson took the top three spots for the second consecutive meet. Prather was the only runner to surpass the 26-minute threshold in the 8km event, winning the race at 25:55.1. Armendarez was the runner-up at 26:10.5 and Janson placed third at 26:22.6.

ONU rounded out their scoring with two more top-10 finishes. David Olmos crossed the finish line eighth at 27:29.3 with Austin Rush just a few steps behind in 10th place at 27:32.9.

The Tigers ran away with the team title at the Midwest Classic, winning their home meet with 23 points. Conference foe St. Ambrose finished runner-up at 93 points and the University of Chicago took third at 104 points.

ONU will now travel to Kentucky to take part in the Louisville XC Classic at Tom Sawyer State Park on Saturday, Oct. 5.
