CCAC NAMES FOUR TIGERS TO MEN'S SOCCER POST-SEASON HONOR ROLL

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) announced the post-season men's soccer honor roll on Friday, and four players from Olivet Nazarene University received recognition for their outstanding performances during the 2024 season.

Junior midfielder Mounir Azzam (Schwerte, Germany) earned his first selection to the CCAC First Team. Azzam played in 16 of 17 games overall, including 9 of 10 conference matches, and started 14 games overall, with 7 conference starts. He scored 3 goals, 2 in conference play, and recorded 8 assists, with 3 coming in conference action. He also netted 1 game-winning goal both overall and in conference play, proving to be a key contributor in tight matches.

Senior midfielder Kurodo Ihara (Yamato City, Japan) was named to the CCAC First Team for the first time in his career. Ihara played in 15 of 17 games, starting 14, including 7 conference starts. He registered 5 goals overall, with 2 in conference, and tallied 6 assists, 3 of which came in conference play. Ihara's strong play on both ends of the field was a major asset to the Tigers.

Sophomore defender Maxime Schonenberger (Wattwil, Switzerland) earned a spot on the CCAC Second Team for the second consecutive year. Schonenberger started in all 17 games this season, including all 10 conference matches. His consistency and defensive reliability were key factors in the ONU's success this year.

Junior midfielder Ali Sillah (Siffoe, Gambia) was named to the CCAC Second Team for the first time. Sillah played in every game, starting in all 17, and contributed 1 assist overall. His presence in midfield helped drive the Tigers' play and control key moments on the field.

These four Tigers were crucial to the team's 9-6-2 overall record and 5-3-2 mark in conference play, demonstrating both individual talent and collective effort throughout the season.
