
HOWARD MAKES ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM TO LEAD ONU IN SPRING OPENER
KODAK, Tenn. – Lizzie Howard made the All-Tournament team to lead the Olivet Nazarene University women's golf team to a third-place finish at their first meet of the spring schedule, the Island Pointe Intercollegiate, Thursday and Friday.
The junior from Dunlap, Ill., opened the two-round tournament with a six-over 78 before wrapping the tournament with an 87 to earn her spot on the all-tournament team in a tie for fifth place overall.
Taylor Ice joined her teammate inside the top 10, finishing in a tie for eighth place individually after carding rounds of 82 and 86 for a 168. Mya Jones showcased her consistency with consecutive rounds of 86 to tie for 11. Bella Rosado rounded out the ONU scoring in 17th place with a final score of 184 (90-94). Jasmine Essington also competed for the Tigers.
The Tigers tallied a final score of 689 to place third at the six-team event, finishing just nine strokes back of the runner-up. William Penn took the team crown at 644.
ONU will be back on the links this weekend to compete in the Purgatory Intercollegiate in Noblesville, Ind.
