EIGHT TIGERS WITH DOUBLE FIGURES CONTRIBUTE TO WIN OVER CRIMSON WAVE

BOURBONNAIS, IL. – On Wednesday, Olivet Nazarene University's women's basketball team triumphed at home against the Crimson Wave of Calumet St Joseph with an overwhelming score of 118-38.

The first quarter was a rollercoaster of emotions, with ONU taking the early lead before Calumet briefly stole the show with a couple of free throws and a layup. But the Tigers quickly found their rhythm, unleashing a barrage of three-pointers from Bett O'Neal, Kayleigh Flach, and Preslee Michael. By the end of the quarter, ONU had built a comfortable 36-11 lead, leaving the Crimson Wave reeling.

The second quarter was a masterclass in offensive efficiency. Brooklyn Marshall opened with back-to-back layups, followed by a three-point barrage from Flach and Olivia Demosthenes that stretched the lead to 39 points. Khendel Rolision, not to be outdone, showcased her versatility with a dominant performance that secured her a double-double in the half. Her clutch free throws and relentless hustle on the boards were instrumental in pushing the lead even further, and Madison Smith's buzzer-beating three sent both squads into the locker rooms with the score settled at 75-18.

Calumet attempted a comeback in the third quarter, but the ONU defense proved an insurmountable obstacle. The Tigers swarmed their opponents, forcing turnovers and smothering any offensive momentum. Demosthenes, Marshall, and Jamie Finn kept the scoreboard ticking, pushing the lead to a staggering 62 points. The score read 98-29 at the end of the quarter, ONU on top.

The final quarter was a mere formality. ONU opened with another layup, extending their lead to 71 points, before embarking on an 11-5 run as the clock ticked down. Consecutive three-pointers from O'Neal and Schutt pushed the lead to a staggering 80 points. Calumet managed a final basket with three minutes remaining, but ONU closed the game with four more points to secure the emphatic 118-38 victory.
