ONU GOES 1-1 ON WEEKEND ROAD TRIP TO MICHIGAN

ADRIAN, MI. – Olivet Nazarene University's men's volleyball team went 1-1 this weekend in Michigan, battling through a tough doubleheader at Siena Heights University. While the Tigers fell short in their first game against the Georgetown Tigers, they bounced back with a gritty comeback victory over the Siena Heights Saints.

The Tigers' first opponent was Georgetown College. Despite a valiant effort, ONU fell short in straight sets (25-16, 25-19, 25-19). The Georgetown Tigers displayed a strong offensive attack that ONU struggled to contain throughout the match.

However, ONU bounced back in a big way in their second match against Siena Heights. The Saints took the first set 25-17, but the Tigers roared back to win the next three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-20, and 25-21. Brody McAfee led the offensive charge with a whopping 15 kills, while Tomas Gonzalez dished out 29 assists to keep the offense clicking. Jaiton Kamaunu and Sterling Staranchuk were a force at the net defensively, providing a key presence that helped slow down the Siena Heights attack.

Looking Ahead

The Tigers will be back in action on Mar. 20th when they travel to Chicago to take on the Cougars of Saint Xavier University. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CST.
