LUCHTENBURG, BROWN LEAD TIGERS AT HOME TOURNAMENT
WILMINGTON, Ill. – Joseph Luchtenburg and Chris Brown both made the all-tournament team to lead the Olivet Nazarene University men's golf team at their home tournament, the Bill Johnson Memorial, played Monday and Tuesday at the Cinder Ridge Golf Course.
Both Tigers shot rounds of 77 or better throughout the two-round tournament. Luchtenburg, a freshman from West Chicago, Ill., fired the team's best round with a 75 in the opening round before closing with a 77 to place runner-up with a 152. Brown finished one stroke back at 153, carding a 76 and a 77 to finish in a tie for third place.
Jack Rimington nearly missed the all-tournament team, knocking two strokes off his second round with a 79 and 77 to place sixth. Jack Busch (77-82) and Luke Martin rounded out the day for ONU with top-10 finishes, placing ninth and 10th, respectively.
A second ONU team competed in the event. Austin Mercier led that group with an eighth-place finish (76-82). Also competing were Hunter Trainor (87-84), Connor Schaafsma (79-93), Mason Uden (90-85), and Darrell Ramos (94-86).
The Tigers will wrap up the fall portion of their schedule with a tournament Oct. 14-15 at the Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind.
