TIGERS TAKE DOWN LAKERS IN STRAIGHT SETS

CHICAGO, IL. - Olivet Nazarene University's men's volleyball team brought the heat on Tuesday night, defeating the Roosevelt University Lakers in a clean sweep. The Tigers dominated the court, winning three straight sets (25-22, 25-20, 25-23) to secure a decisive victory.

The first set was a nail-biter, with both teams trading points back and forth. Brody McAfee came up big early, putting down some thunderous kills to keep ONU in the game. The Lakers wouldn't go down without a fight, but a late surge by the Tigers sealed the deal for ONU at 25-22.

The second set saw the Tigers take control early. Tomas Gonzalez was on fire, distributing the ball flawlessly, and hitters Cade Ooms and Jaiton Kamaunu were feasting. Roosevelt managed to close the gap midway through the set, but ONU never lost their composure, building a comfortable lead and cruising to a 25-20 win.

The third set saw Roosevelt fight back, determined to avoid the sweep. The score remained close throughout, but the Tigers held their nerve. With clutch plays at the net and some strong defensive efforts, ONU secured the final set, 25-23, to seal the deal.

Looking Ahead

The Tigers won't have much time to rest, as they'll be back in action on Mar. 7th for a special "Pacific Rim Night" home game against the Trinity Christian Trolls. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CST.
