TIGERBALL OUTPACES FIGHTING BEES FOR A STRONG 92-63 VICTORY

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University's (ONU) women's basketball team earned a convincing 92-63 win over St. Ambrose in front of their home crowd on Wednesday evening. The Tigers turned up the heat after a slow start, dominating the second half to seal the win.

The first quarter was a bit of a grind, with both teams tied at 13. The Tigers struggled from deep, hitting just 9.1% of their three-point attempts, but their defense kept them in it, stifling the Fighting Bees' offense and controlling the boards.

In the second quarter, ONU's offense started to click. They outscored St. Ambrose 22-20, and while the Fighting Bees found a little rhythm, shooting 58.3% from the field, the Tigers' defense continued to shine, limiting their scoring opportunities and maintaining control of the game.

Then came the third quarter — a masterclass from the Tigers. Shooting 57.1% from the field and 60% from beyond the arc, ONU simply outpaced St. Ambrose. Lindsey Nell chipped in 8 points, while Olivia Dirkse added 7. The offense was flowing, and the defense remained relentless, pushing the Tigers' lead further out of reach.

In the fourth, ONU's bench continued to shine. Molli Ward added 6 points, helping the Tigers finish with a whopping 50 points from reserves compared to just 20 from St. Ambrose. Dirkse finished with 13 points, Khendel Rolison had 12, Nell ended with 10, and Calee Biedron contributed 11. The game ended with ONU securing a 92-63 victory.

Looking Ahead

The Tigers will travel to Judson University on Jan. 25th for a 1:00 PM CST conference matchup. With this strong performance, ONU looks to keep the momentum going as they head into the next stretch of their season.
