DAHL LEADS TIGERS TO FIRST WIN IN KENTUCKY

GEORGETOWN, KY. – Olivet Nazarene University's men's volleyball team took down Talladega University in a clean sweep – 25-23, 25-21, 25-17 on the road on Thursday.

The first set was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading kills and leads. Talladega seemed to be pulling away late, going up by four points. But ONU refused to give in, and a clutch kill by Brody McAfee put them back in the lead. McAfee then closed out the set with another kill, giving ONU a 25-23 victory.

The second set started much like the first, with both teams playing tight. But ONU was able to go on a five-point run early in the set, giving them an 11-4 lead. They never looked back from there, cruising to a 25-21 victory.

The Tigers came out firing in the third set, racing out to an 18-7 lead. Talladega never recovered, as ONU closed out the set 25-17 to secure the victory.

The win was a big one for the Tigers, not only because it was their first in regular season play, but also because it was the first win for interim head coach Dillon Dahl. Dahl took over the program earlier this week and has quickly made a positive impact. Coach Dahl expressed his satisfaction with the results, stating, "Overall, I am happy with tonight's outcome. As the season progresses, we will become more crisp in some aspects of our game. this game was a great start to my coaching career as a head coach, and it means a lot to do it with a group of great guys!"

Looking Ahead

ONU will stay in Kentucky to take on Lincoln Tech on Jan. 26th. The game is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. CST.
