ONU WRAPS SEASON WITH BLOWOUT WIN OVER FIGHTING BEES

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – It was a perfect end to the season as the Olivet Nazarene University football team celebrated their seniors with a 47-7 blowout win over St. Ambrose at Ward Field Saturday afternoon.

Despite the final score, the game got out to an auspicious start when St. Ambrose (1-9) ripped off a 65-yard touchdown run on the first play of scrimmage.

From there it was all Tigers as they would go on to score 47 unanswered points. Cameron Crouch got ONU on the board when he took the team down the length of the field, capping the drive with a pass Brian Jenkins from 10 yards out on a broken play to even the score at 7-7.

A pair of Graham Johnson field goals sandwiched an Evan Leake three-yard touchdown to put the Tigers up by double digits heading into the halftime locker room.

The second half was more of the same as the Tigers outscored the Fighting Bees 30-0 over the final two quarters. Jenkins caught his second touchdown of the day before Ryan Morrison-Gravenberg hauled in back-to-back touchdown grabs in making it 40-7 ONU.

Connor Howard, who primarily plays defense, put the finishing touches on the big win with a rushing touchdown from three yards out. It was the first touchdown of the senior's career as ONU rolled to the 47-7 win.

Crouch rolled up 253 yards through the air on an efficient 19-of-26 passing performance. Jenkins (7), Leake (6), and Morrison-Gravenberg (5) combined for 18 receptions. Morrison-Gravenberg led the trio with 95 receiving yards.

Abraham Flores-Cuen paced the ONU defense with 11 total tackles and a pair of sacks for seven yards lost. John Harman collected a pair of sacks, as well, to go with his eight total tackles. Vaisen Viloria snagged an interception for his second pick in as many games.

ONU finishes the season 6-4 overall and 3-2 in league play.
