ANDERSON'S GOAL SECURES VICTORY AGAINST ST. XAVIER

CHICAGO, IL. - Olivet Nazarene University's women's soccer team pulled off a hard-fought 1-0 win against St. Xavier University at Deaton Field on Wednesday.

 

First Half: ONU Takes The Lead

The first half was a strategic chess match, with both teams engaging in a tussle for control. ONU, seized the opportunity in the 43rd minute when senior midfielder Marissa Anderson displayed her clinical finishing, capitalizing on a pinpoint assist from senior defender Abbey Cash. The scoreboard favored ONU going into halftime as the Tigers lead 1-0.

 

Second Half: Defense Holds Strong

As the second half kicked off, St. Xavier intensified their efforts, desperately seeking an equalizer. However, ONU's defense stood strong, thwarting any attempts made by the Cougars. The Tigers remained vigilant to ensure that the 1-0 lead held until the final whistle.

 

Looking Ahead

With this hard fought victory, ONU sets their sights on their next match. The Tigers are excited to face off against Judson University in front of Tiger fans at Snowbarger Athletic Complex on Oct. 14th. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
