BOTH ONU TENNIS TEAMS FALL IN MATCHES AGAINST PURDUE NORTHWEST

HAMMOND, Ind. – In the women's spring opener and the second match of the spring for the men, the Olivet Nazarene University tennis teams fell to Purdue Northwest Thursday afternoon. The women dropped the match 4-1 while the men lost 7-0

Women: Purdue Northwest 4, Olivet Nazarene 1

Hailey Haws picked up the Tigers only point with a 7-5, 3-6, 10-4 super tiebreaker win over PNW's Kiah Farrington in the No. 4 singles match. Chieh-Yu Chen forced a tiebreaker in the No. 2 match with a 6-2 win in the second set, but ultimately fell short in the tiebreaker.

Men: Purdue Northwest 7, Olivet Nazarene 0

The Tiger men were unable to pick up a point in their match against the Pride. Their closest win came in No. 6 singles where Brian Victoria Ayala nearly took both sets over Pedro Diaz, but he couldn't win the set tiebreaker in either set in the 7-6, 7-6 defeat.
