LAMB’S THREE TOUCHDOWNS LEAD ONU PAST JUDSON IN MSFA OPENER

STREAMWOOD, Ill. –  Blake Lamb hauled in three touchdowns as the Olivet Nazarene University football team rolled to a second straight win, a 58-14 victory over Judson Saturday evening at Millennium Field.

Despite the final score, the Eagles (0-4, 0-1 MSFA) were the ones who struck first in the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Midwest League opener for both teams. Judson took the ball down the field for a touchdown on the game's opening drive.

From there it was all Tigers.

ONU scored five unanswered touchdowns to close out the first half. Aaron Bennett got the Tigers on the board with a 21-yard scamper into the endzone. Brandon Odam then threw a 20-yard strike to Lamb for his first touchdown of the day.

On the ensuing kickoff, Nic Bunkosky forced a fumble that was pounced on by Cheo Trotter which set up Evan Leake for a four-yard touchdown run. Odam and Lamb then connected for back-to-back touchdowns, one from 27 yards and the other from 38 yards as the first half expired to make it 35-7 heading into halftime.

It only took three plays for the Tigers to find the endzone in the second half as Arthur Walker bolted for a 68-yard score to put ONU up by five touchdowns. Odam continued to pour it on with a 19-yard pitch-and-catch to Ryan Morrison-Gravenberg for his fourth passing touchdown of the game.

Brendyn Agabayani recorded the second touchdown of the year on a 24-yard strike to Ray Coffee Jr. Gavin Lentz ended the scoring with a 27-yard field goal, the first of his career.

ONU rolled up 572 yards of total offense. Odam finished 20-of-27 for 290 yards and four TDs. Lamb eclipsed the century mark for the first time in his career with 111 yards to go with his three touchdowns. Morrison-Gravenberg finished with four catches for 72 yards. Andrew Cloy led ONU with six receptions.

Walker paced the ground game with 99 rushing yards and a score. Bennett scrounged up 46 yards on three carries.

The Tigers totaled 11 tackles for loss, forced two fumbles, and nabbed two interceptions. John Harman led the team with six solo tackles and two tackles for loss. Nolan Johnson and Lucas Eckles were responsible for the two picks.

ONU, having now won two in a row, will take on Central Methodist at Ward Field Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
