TOUGH ROAD TRIP RESULTS IN 3-1 LOSS FOR ONU

GOSHEN, IN.  -  Olivet Nazarene University men's volleyball team battled hard on the road against Goshen College on Saturday, but ultimately fell short, dropping the match 3-1.

ONU came out firing in the first set, jumping out to an early lead and forcing Goshen to play catch-up. The Maple Leafs fought valiantly and found their rhythm to take the lead, ultimately winning the set 25-22.

The Tigers flipped the script in the second set, despite both teams trading blows early on. ONU's offense clicked, peppering the Goshen side with kills, while their defense shut down the Maple Leafs' attack. The Tigers cruised to a convincing 25-14 victory, tying the match at 1-1.

However, Goshen regrouped and took control in the third and fourth sets. The hosts used efficient hitting and strong serving to pull away from the Tigers, leaving ONU chasing in both sets. Despite valiant efforts, the Tigers couldn't overcome the deficit, falling 25-17 in both frames.

Brody McAfee led the Tigers with 12 kills, while Cade Ooms added 10 kills and one block, and Tomas Gonzalez chipped in 4 kills and 28 assists.

Looking Ahead

The Tigers return to action on Feb. 16th, when they travel to face Cornerstone University. The game is set for 6:00 p.m. CST.
