TIGERBALL COMES UP SHORT AT GSU

UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's basketball team fell on the road to Governors State 81-80 Wednesday night at the Athletics and Recreation Center. They erased a 17-point second-half deficit to lead late in the fourth quarter but could not hang on in the end. Khendel Rolison scored a team-high 19 points in the loss.

The Jaguars held the Tigers to a season-low 29 points in the first half. As a team, ONU was shooting at a clip of 23.8% from the floor and was 3-15 from beyond the arc. Maggie Cora supplied two of the three-point baskets and totaled eight points in the second quarter to keep the game within reach.

ONU began to work their way into the contest with Caroline Boehne leading the way out of the break. The graduate senior forward scored eight points on 3-4 shooting and draining both of her three-point attempts. Jamie Finn also provided the team a boost offensively scoring five points in the period.

Olivet responded with urgency down 11 heading into the fourth quarter to make their comeback. A jump shot from Olivia Demosthenes sparked an 11-2 run to chip away at the deficit to find themselves down five with 6:37 left to play. Boehne scored five unanswered to give the visitors their first lead of the night at the 3:46 mark. The Jaguars won the game at the line making six of their final seven attempts of the game.
