ONU DROPS MATCH AGAINST TRINITY DESPITE STRONG START

BOURBONNIAS, IL. – Olivet Nazarene University's women's soccer team lost 0-1 at home against the Trinity Christian College Trolls on Wednesday.

 

First Half: Strong Start For ONU

The match started with ONU pressing hard for an early lead. In the 26th minute, it looked like the Tigers had struck gold when freshman defender Hailey King found the back of the net after a corner kick by senior defender Abbey Cash. However, the goal was disallowed after due to an out of bounds call. Despite this setback, ONU continued to display resilience and keep the pressure on the Trinity defense. Both squads went into halftime scoreless.

 

Second Half: Trinity Takes Control

As the second half unfolded, both teams battled fiercely for control of the game. ONU remained determined, making valiant efforts to break through the Trinity defense. However, in the 75th minute, the Trolls managed to capitalize on a scoring opportunity and netted the game's only goal. The Tigers continued to fight back but couldn't find the equalizer, and the match ended with the Trolls securing the 1-0 win.

 

Looking Ahead

While this result was disappointing, ONU remain undeterred. The Tigers are excited to celebrate the seniors during the team's final regular season match on Oct. 28th against Viterbo University. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. CST at Snowbarger Athletic Complex.
