TWELVE FIND SCORESHEET IN No. 22 TIGERS’ BIG WIN OVER JUDSON

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – A total of 12 members of the No. 22 Olivet Nazarene University men's basketball team contributed to the final score in the Tigers' 95-67 rout of Judson Saturday afternoon in McHie Arena.

The Tigers shot better than 56 percent from the floor and knocked down 11 three-pointers (in 21 attempts) in getting back in the win column. The win moved the team to 14-5 overall and 8-3 in the CCAC.

ONU took control early, building a 44-30 lead at the half. Sam Emich scored 13 of his team-high 20 points in the opening period. His 18-foot jumpshot capped a 13-2 run that gave the Tigers a double-digit lead with two minutes left in the first half. The Purple & Yellow Gold led by double figures from there on out.

The Eagles (8-12, 5-7 CCAC) battled back from an early deficit, slimming the ONU lead to two at 25-23. But Jack Holohan provided a spark off the bench with consecutive putback layups to ignite the big run. Landon Pflederer and Caleb Swearingen each knocked down a triple to close the half with the 14-point advantage.

Emich opened the second-half scoring with back-to-back layups and the lead ballooned to as many 29 in the closing minutes.

The Copley, Ohio native finished 8-of-13 from the floor and knocked down a pair of three's. Pflederer filled in 15 points and brought down a game-high seven rebounds. Tyler Schmidt finished with 10 points. Swearingen scored all nine of his points from beyond the arc while Griffin Andricks contributed two points.

Seven Tigers came off the bench and contributed to the scoresheet in the win, led by Holohan's 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting. Dawson Schmidt buried two triples in scoring eight. Daniel Murphy and Eli Edwards both scored six. Austin Eifert finished with three while Gabe Renchen and Luke Braman each netted two points.

The Tigers will head to Chicago Wednesday for a marquee matchup with the conference-leading Roosevelt Lakers. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. CST.
