ONU NARROWLY FALLS SHORT WITH RUNNER-UP FINISH AT CCAC CHAMPIONSHIP
BETTENDORF, Iowa – One point was all that separated first and second place as the Olivet Nazarene University men's cross country team finished runner-up at the 2024 CCAC Championship meet Saturday afternoon at Crow Creek Park.
ONU posted a strong score of 40 points to secure second place as a team, barely getting edged out by St. Francis (Ill.) who finished just one point ahead with 39 to secure their sixth-consecutive league title. Saint Xavier placed third as a team behind the individual champion Isaac Sytsma at 24:45.8.
All five ONU scorers earned all-conference accolades with four of them placing inside the top 10. Brandon Armendarez and Nick Janson finished within one pace of each other in third and fourth place, respectively, at 25:17.9 and 25:18.2.

The Tigers will look to receive an at-large bid to the NAIA National Championships, which will be held on Nov. 22 in Columbia, Mo., at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
