TIGERBALL SINKS THE LAKERS 101-77

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's basketball program rode a 35-point third quarter to sink the Roosevelt Lakers 101-77 Wednesday night. Olivia Demosthenes had herself a career night pouring in 26 points with a block, three steals, three assists, and four rebounds.

Demosthenes led the Tigers in scoring eclipsing 20 points for the third time this season. She shot 60% from the floor (9-15) and 57.1% from beyond the arc making four threes. Most of the junior guard's production came in the second and third quarters combining for 17 points. Her previous career-high was tied at 22 back on Nov. 19 against Saint Xavier.

A combination of Kaitlyn Engle, Demosthenes, and Khendel Rolison hit back-to-back-to-back-to-back three-point baskets to build an early 11-point lead with three minutes left in the quarter. Roosevelt would not go away as RU's Jayla Turchin and Meghan Urbanski combined for 33 points in the first half and ended the half on an 11-2 run to take their first lead of the night into the locker room up 49-48.

The Tigers came out of the intermission firing outscoring the visitors 35-11—the most significant score differential for a quarter on the night. Maggie Cora scored nine of her 14 points in the third period making all three of her three-point attempts. Olivia Dirkse tacked on seven points with Kallista Helberg scoring five. ONU benefited from a 15-0 run in the quarter leading to a 23-point advantage heading into the fourth seeing out the remaining 10 minutes on their way to the win.

Olivet's bench outscored Roosevelts 37-15 as Kaitlyn Engle registered nine points. Caroline Boehne tallied her 11th double-double on the year with a 16-point performance with 11 rebounds. The senior forward has now recorded double-doubles in her last three games.
