ONU EMERGES VICTORIOUS IN BATTLE AGAINST ST. AMBROSE

BOURBONNAIS, IL. – Olivet Nazarene University's women's soccer team reigned victorious with a score of 1-0 in a thrilling home conference match against the Fighting Bees of St. Ambrose University on Tuesday at Snowbarger Athletic Complex. 

 

First Half: ONU Draws First Blood

The match opened with both sides vying for control of the pitch. ONU's offensive prowess shone through as they relentlessly pressed forward, testing the SAU goalkeeper with a series of shots on target. The breakthrough moment finally arrived in the 39th minute of play as freshman forward Skylar Bos capitalized on a well-executed set piece, slotting the ball into the back of the net, putting the Tigers ahead. 

With the 1-0 lead firmly in place, Olivet Nazarene University headed into the second half with confidence, determined to maintain their advantage.

 

Second Half: ONU's Solid Defense Secures Victory

The second half of the match unfolded with SAU seeking to equalize. The visiting team displayed commendable offensive efforts, applying pressure on ONU's defense in an attempt to level the score. However, the Tiger backline stood resolute. 

The final whistle blew with ONU on the right side of the scoreline. 

 

Looking Ahead: 

As ONU celebrates this hard-earned victory, they also look ahead with optimism. The Tigers are eager to hit the road and face Indiana University – Northwest on Sept. 22nd. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. CST at Crown Point Sportsplex.
