ONU CELEBRATES SENIOR NIGHT WITH 3-0 WIN OVER TRINITY

BOURBONNAIS, IL. – At Snowbarger Athletic Complex on Tuesday, Olivet Nazarene University men's soccer team celebrated senior night as they clinched a 3-0 victory against Trinity Christian College.

 

First Half: Kilian and Mancera Strike Early

The first half kicked off with a wave of energy as ONU put immediate pressure on the Trolls. The Tigers wasted no time getting on the board, in the 17th minute, senior defender Nick Kilian delivered a perfectly placed shot into the net, expertly assisted by senior midfielder Holden Devore. The team's swift passing and aggressive attacks kept Trinity's defense on their toes. In the 42nd minute, junior midfielder Alexis Mancera exhibited his clinical finishing abilities, capitalizing on another excellent pass by Devore. The Tigers headed into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 lead as Trinity struggled to find answers.

 

Second Half: Ihara Seals the Deal

The second half saw no respite for Trinity as the the Tigers kept their foot on the gas. In the 77th minute, junior defender Kurodo Ihara put the icing on the cake with a well-placed goal, assisted by Kilian.  

ONU's defense was equally solid, ensuring that the Trolls struggled to mount a comeback. The final whistle blew and the Tigers walked away with a clean sheet. 

 

Looking Ahead

The Tigers are excited for the challenge that awaits them against Viterbo University in their last regular season match at Snowbarger Athletic Complex on Oct. 28th. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
