TIGERS SPLITS WEEKEND

BOURBONNAIS, IL. – Olivet Nazarene University men's volleyball team split their matches over the weekend, experiencing contrasting emotions. 

Friday, Feb 2nd:

The Tigers fell short in a close battle against Maryville University, dropping the match 3-0. Despite keeping pace with their opponents throughout the game, ONU couldn't secure the win. The sets ended with scores of 21-25, 27-29, and 18-25. 

Saturday, Feb 3rd:

Redemption came on Saturday as the Tigers bounced back to defeat Lakeland University at home in a 3-1 victory. ONU displayed strong offensive power, hitting at a .225 clip with 39 kills throughout the match. Brody McAfee led the ONU attack with an impressive 14 kills on a .258 hitting percentage. The Tigers controlled the first two sets, winning 25-17 and 25-21. Lakeland fought back to take the third set 19-25, but ONU shut the door in the fourth set, winning 25-21.

Looking Ahead

The Tigers aim to build on this momentum as they gear up for their next challenge: a road trip to Goshen College on Feb. 10th. The game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. CST.
