ONU MAKES QUICK WORK OF IUSB

SOUTH BEND, IN. – On Tuesday, Olivet Nazarene University's women's soccer team secured a dominant 5-0 victory on the road against Indiana University South Bend at Newton Park.

 

First Half: A Fierce Beginning

The initial half of the match was intense, with both teams striving for control. The Tigers and their opponents engaged in a spirited battle, but neither side managed to break the deadlock.

 

Second Half: ONU Goes On A Scoring Spree

The second half witnessed ONU raising the bar of their performance. In the 50th minute, junior midfielder Alaina Bahr found the back of the net, breaking the stalemate and giving her team a well-deserved lead. This marked the beginning of a scoring spree that showcased ONU's prowess. In the 58th minute, senior midfielder Marissa Anderson exhibited exceptional skill and precision, converting a goal assisted by senior defender Abbey Cash. Just a minute later, the dynamic duo of Anderson and Cash struck again, with Anderson netting her second goal of the match.

As the game progressed, ONU's offense continued to shine. In the 64th minute, senior forward Kaylee Evers capitalized on an excellent opportunity to extend their lead. The Tigers weren't done yet, and in the 72nd minute, freshman forward Skylar Bos scored a goal to complete the 5-0 victory.

 

Looking Ahead

The Tigers are excited to return home to face Trinity Christian College. ONU will face off against the Trolls on Oct. 25th at 5:00 p.m. CST.
