TIGER SOFTBALL OPENS PLAY IN THE OPENING ROUND OF THE 2022 NAIA SOFTBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ON MONDAY

MARION, Ind. – The Olivet Nazarene University softball team opened the Opening Round of the 2022 NAIA Softball National Championship playing the host Indiana Wesleyan University on Monday afternoon. The Tigers fell to the Wildcats, 11-0, in five innings. 

 

The Tigers looked to Kori Fricke to start the game and Emily Blucker came into the game in relief in the bottom of the second inning.  Blucker was able to notch one strikeout in the circle. The Wildcats jumped on Tiger pitching early and often as they scored one run in the first, four in the second, and six in the third to take an 11-0 advantage.   

 

The Tigers did not scrap across a hit in the game but did see Faith Mikos, Margaret Landis, and Olivia Flinn all reach base.  The Tigers fell in the game, 11-0, in five innings. 

 

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Tigers (33-14-1) play the Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson College on Tuesday, May 17th at 1 p.m. CST in their second game of the Opening Round of 2022 NAIA Softball National Championships.  If the Tigers were to win that game, they would play the loser of the game between the Warriors of Midland and the Wildcats of Indiana Wesleyan at 4 p.m. CST later that day.
