ANTKOVIAK’S TWO TITLES HIGHLIGHT ONU’S WEEK AT NAIA CHAMPIONSHIPS

BROOKINGS, S.D. – After winning an individual outdoor national title in the spring, Hannah Antkoviak added two more to her collection to highlight the Olivet Nazarene University track & field teams' week at the 2024 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Sanford Jackrabbit Complex.

Antkoviak, who was recently named the NAIA's Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year for the Midwest Region by the USTFCCCA, picked up her first gold medal on the weekend by setting an NAIA record at 1:28.80 to win the 600-meter dash. She then teamed up with Kiara Carter, Carsyn Burdine, and Tera Miller to win the 4x400-meter relay with an ONU record time of 3:42.90.

The junior sprinter from Allegan, Mich., also added another All-American finish when she placed runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles, bolting to a time of 8.39 to set a new ONU school record and place second at nationals.

Vince Giuliano picked up a pair of All-American finishes on the men's side. He went 2-3 with his teammate Joseph Randolph in the 200-meter dash, with Randolph taking runner-up honors at 21.07 and Giuliano collecting the bronze at 21.21. This came after Giuliano placed sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.73.

The ONU quartet of Flynn Prather, David Olmos, Brett Hulliberger, and Joey Puccillo all earned All-American status in the 4x800-meter relay, cruising to a time of 7:40.84 in the finals to place fifth.

As a team, the ONU women racked up 28 points on the weekend to tie for 10th with the College of Idaho. On the men's side, the Tigers tallied 21 points to earn a tie for ninth with Dakota State.
