CORA SET CAREER-HIGH IN WIN OVER JUDSON

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Maggie Cora set new career-highs in points scored as Olivet Nazarene women's basketball won 121-61 over Judson Wednesday night at McHie Arena. Cora scored 24 points shooting 6-10 from three and 6-6 from the free-throw line.  

ONU came out firing converting their first four attempts from the floor. Zanna Myers scored 12 points in the opening period making her first three three-point tries of the game. The home team turned over the visitors seven times while they committed zero in the opening 10 minutes. The Tigers went into the first break up 36-24.

Maggie Cora caught the hot hand scoring 13 points in the second quarter. Cora made three threes and benefited from getting to the line for an additional six points. Defensively, Olivet clamped down holding the Eagles to 21.4% shooting from the floor. Judson scored only six points in the second period. ONU went into the locker room up 36.


Halftime: Olivet Nazarene 57, Judson 33

Cora and Karina Smits each scored six points coming out of halftime while Olivia Demosthenes registered nine. The Tigers continued scoring from beyond the arc with six made threes. ONU continued to grow the lead to 50 heading into the final quart up 96-43.

Olivet's bench came alive in the fourth quarter scoring 14 of the 25 points where six different players tallied a point or more. Myers' ability to get to the free-throw line gave her an additional six points on the night. Kennedy Johnson reached double-figures in assists after tacking two onto her total in the last quarter.
