TIGERS PICK UP CCAC WIN NO. 10 WITH VICTORY OVER HCC

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's basketball team claimed their 10th win in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference as they defeated Holy Cross 99-77 on the road. Caroline Boehne headlined with her fourth consecutive double-double performance scoring a game-high 26 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

The Tigers jumped on the Saints early scoring 31 points in the first quarter. ONU dropped in six threes shooing 60% from the floor while holding the Saints to 13 points to build a double-digit lead on the hosts. Jamie Finn sparked a 15-0 run with a three-point basket with 2:54 left in the period. Kaitlyn Engle capped off the run with a three with only four seconds on the clock as ONU carried a 31-13 lead into the second.

Olivet picked up right where they left off to start the second quarter on a 10-2 run.  They ended the half with an 11-2 run as they went into the break leading 57-28. The Tigers made 11 threes in the first half to HCC's one which was the major difference in the half.

Holy Cross would not go away in the second half as they outscored Olivet 49-42. Steady scoring from Boehne toward the end thwarted any comeback. She scored 13 of her 26 points in the second half. The Tigers controlled the glass outrebounding the home side 58-36 for the day. They also outshot HCC from beyond the arc 16-3 while getting major scoring contributions from the bench which combined for 39 points.

Maggie Cora registered 17 points in the contest, second on the team. Cora and Kaitlyn Engle were each responsible for four three-point buckets. Olivia Dirkse added another 13 points off the bench. The freshman guard shot 50% from the floor and provided three assists.
