TIGERBALL KNOCK OFF CCAC LEADING TITANS 83-76

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's basketball team knocked off the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference leaders, IU-South Bend 83-76 Wednesday night in McHie Arena. Maggie Cora tied a season-high with 21 points shooting 5-9 from three while Olivia Demosthenes poured in 17 points while dishing out six assists.

The Tigers traded blows with the Titans in the first quarter with each ball club scoring 19 points apiece. Cora and Khendel Rolison got the Tigers going with both players tallying two threes in the opening 10 minutes. Caroline Boehne added five points making both of her attempts from the floor.

ONU started to go cold from the floor shooting only 25% in the second quarter. The Titan's Tia Chambers began to control the paint scoring 9 of the visitor's 17 second-period points and grabbing four rebounds. Despite the dip in shooting, Cora stayed hot adding another six points to her total. IU-South Bend carried a 36-31 lead into the halftime locker room.

Demothenes took the game over in the second half scoring 14 of her 17 points in the second half with 11 points coming in the fourth quarter. The Bloomington, Ill. native iced the game with her three buckets from the floor and converted 5-6 free throws.

The Tigerball pressure wore down the away team as critical turnovers down the stretch proved a factor. ONU forced the Titans to commit eight turnovers in the final quarter. Olivet benefited from 25 points scored off turnovers for the contest. They benefitted from 14-2 run that spanned 3:09 to build their largest lead of 7 points—a lead they did not give up for the remaining 4:25 of the game.
