EVERY PLAYER SCORES AS TIGERBALL TORCHES CALUMET 137-48

WHITING, Ind. – Olivet Nazarene University's (ONU) women's basketball team put on a show Wednesday evening, steamrolling Calumet College of St. Joseph to the tune of a 137-48 victory. The explosive performance saw every player on the roster get in on the action, with Kalli Papenfuss leading the charge with 18 points and 8 rebounds, followed closely by Calee Biedron's 17 points and 4 rebounds.

In the first quarter, ONU wasted no time asserting their dominance, outscoring the Crimson Wave 41-17. The Tigers shot a scorching 55.6% from the field, led by Papenfuss, who scored 6 of her points during the opening period. Calumet shot 66.7% from the field but struggled with consistency as the quarter progressed. ONU's defense shined, forcing turnovers and capitalizing on fast breaks.

The second quarter was a clinic in balanced scoring. ONU's 46.2% shooting from beyond the arc helped them extend their lead to 72-29 at the half. Biedron, who was all over the court, chipped in with 6 points during the period, and players like Preslee Michael and Khendel Rolison, who combined for 19 points and 16 assists in the game, continued to facilitate the offense. The Crimson Wave's offense continued to struggle, managing just 12 points in the quarter.

Coming out of halftime, the Tigers weren't satisfied. They kept the pressure on, scoring 36 points to Calumet's 10 in the third quarter. The defense was relentless, forcing turnovers and locking down on the perimeter. Jayden Flagg was a force on both ends, adding 8 points and a rebound, while Madison Smith contributed 6 points and played a key role in maintaining ONU's offensive flow.

The fourth quarter was a fitting conclusion to a dominant game. Papenfuss continued to shine, adding 5 more points to her tally while Lindsey Nell added 6 to bring her total to 14 for the game. ONU finished the game with a remarkable 81.8% from the free-throw line, including a perfect fourth quarter. Calumet, meanwhile, was held to just 9 points in the final period.

Looking Ahead

The Tigers will return home for a conference matchup against Saint Xavier University on Jan. 18th at 1:00 p.m. CST. ONU will look to continue their momentum in what promises to be another high-intensity game on their home court.
