TIGERS SECURE NARROW VICTORY OVER TRINITY CHRISTIAN, 1-0

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. - Olivet Nazarene University's men's soccer team clinched a 1-0 victory on the road Tuesday against Trinity Christian College, securing an important win as they near the end of the regular season.

The first half saw both teams locked in a back-and-forth battle, with neither side able to break through. ONU worked to build momentum through quick passes and disciplined play, while Trinity Christian held their ground, resulting in a scoreless first 45 minutes. Both teams headed into halftime eager for a decisive second half.

ONU found their chance in the 67th minute, when Nathan Schmidli netted the game's only goal, with an assist from Philip Joergensen. Following the goal, the Tigers' defense held firm against any potential Trolls rally, controlling possession and minimizing Trinity Christian's scoring chances to secure the shutout victory.

Looking Ahead

The Tigers will finish their regular season on the road against Viterbo University on Nov. 2nd at 12 p.m. CST. With postseason play around the corner, ONU aims to maintain their strong form and carry this momentum into the conference tournament.
