No. 14 WILLIAM PENN OVERPOWERS TIGERS ON THE ROAD
OSKALOOSA, Iowa – Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to William Penn University on Thursday afternoon. The Tigers held their ground in the first half, playing to a scoreless tie at halftime, but were unable to fend off a strong second-half push from the Statesmen.
The opening half saw both teams exchange possession and build scoring chances, but neither side could find the breakthrough. ONU's defense was solid, preventing William Penn from converting their early opportunities. The Tigers created several chances on the counterattack, but neither side was able to find the back of the net before the interval.
In the second half, the momentum shifted in favor of the Statesmen. William Penn broke the deadlock in the 58th minute with a well-placed goal. Just four minutes later, they struck again in the 62nd minute to extend their lead to 2-0. As ONU worked to regain their footing, William Penn added a third goal in the 72nd minute. The Statesmen sealed the match with a final goal in the 80th minute, securing the 4-0 result.

The Tigers will aim to regroup as they head into their next contest, an away game against Marian University on September 7th. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. CST. ONU will look to bounce back and secure their first road victory of the season.
