ONU POWERS PAST ST. AMBROSE WITH 4-1 ROAD VICTORY

DAVENPORT, Iowa -  Olivet Nazarene University's (ONU) women's soccer team delivered a strong performance on Wednesday, earning a 4-1 win over St. Ambrose University on the road. After conceding an early goal, the Tigers responded with a flurry of offense, showing resilience and dominance in their second straight conference victory.

St. Ambrose struck first, finding the back of the net in the 6th minute to take a quick 1-0 lead. However, the Tigers found their rhythm midway through the first half. In the 28th minute, Melea Miller leveled the match with a composed finish, assisted by Marisa Lopez. ONU kept pushing, and right before the halftime whistle, Hannah Dela Vega slotted home a goal in the 45th minute, putting the Tigers ahead 2-1 and giving them all the momentum heading into the break.

The second half was all ONU, with Miller once again showcasing her scoring touch in the 56th minute, tallying her second goal of the night to widen the lead. The Tigers kept their foot on the gas, and in the 65th minute, Emma Daniels added to the tally with a goal, brilliantly assisted by Miller, sealing the 4-1 victory. ONU's defense was rock-solid, shutting down any St. Ambrose comeback attempts, as the Tigers cruised to another impressive conference win.

Looking Ahead

The Tigers now turn their attention to their next conference match at home against the Indiana Northwest Redhawks on September 28th, at 7 p.m. CST. ONU will look to continue their winning streak and build momentum as they push forward in conference play.
