RIMINGTON REGISTERS RUNNER-UP PLACEMENT AT CLARKE FALL INVITE

GALENA, Ill.Jack Rimington's runner-up finish helped lead the Olivet Nazarene University men's golf team at their season-opening tournament, the Clarke Fall Invite, Tuesday afternoon at the Eagle Ridge Golf Course.

Rimington, a junior from Oswego, Ill., fired a 3-over 75 to end in a three-way tie for second place, as well as earning a spot on the all-tournament team. Newcomers Luke Martin and Joe Luchtenburg both finished in the 70s, with the former carding a 78 to tie for seventh and the latter firing a 79 to tie for 11th place.

Jack Busch, last year's individual medalist at the CCAC Tournament, rounded out the scoring for ONU in a tie for 21st with an 83. Chris Brown shot an identical score of 83, with Hunter Trainer a shot back at 84.

ONU finished the day with a score of 319, good for fourth place at the eight-team tournament. Viterbo took home the tournament title at 310.

The Tigers will now compete in the two-day Battle at Blackthorn starting next Monday, Sept. 9 at the Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Ind.
