SEASON COMES TO A CLOSE IN CCAC TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL

ELGIN, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's volleyball team saw its 2024 season come to an end with a 25-16, 25-18, 25-18 defeat to Judson in the CCAC Tournament quarterfinals Tuesday evening in the Lindner Fitness Center.

A slow start cost the Tigers in the first set and a late Judson run in the second set allowed the Eagles (19-12, 10-4 CCAC), who entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed, to take a commanding 2-0 lead. A Halle Nicholas kill gave ONU a 16-15 advantage midway through the second, but Judson closed out the set on a 10-2 run.

The Tigers seemed poised to extend their season another set after they raced out to a big lead in the third. Back-to-back kills from Sabrina Sanif and Analiese Fredin followed by a kill from Naomi Monney-Hori put ONU up 14-8 midway. But Judson turned the set on its head with 10 unanswered points which all but sealed ONU's tournament run.

Sanif led ONU with eight kills on a .353 hitting percentage. Nicholas registered five kills. Monney-Horri, Ava Smith, and Kaylee Cozen all chipped in three kills apiece.

Fredin tied the match-high with 21 assists while contributing four kills. Sara Serafimova anchored the back row with 14 digs. Breanna Lamie finished with eight digs and a pair of service aces.
