TIGERS UNABLE TO CONTAIN No. 15 WILDCATS IN SHUTOUT LOSS

MARION, Ind. – Olivet Nazarene University's (ONU) men's soccer team suffered a tough 5-0 loss on the road against Indian Wesleyan University (IWU) on Saturday. The Wildcats capitalized early in the first half, scoring all five goals within a 20-minute span to secure the victory.

The Tigers struggled to gain momentum against a well-organized Wildcats team, facing a relentless attack in the first half. IWU opened the scoring in the 15th minute and quickly followed up with a second goal in the 22nd minute. The Wildcats added two more within the next eight minutes, finding the back of the net in the 23rd and 30th minutes. They rounded off their scoring spree with a goal in the 34th minute to take a commanding 5-0 lead by halftime.

In the second half, ONU worked hard to prevent further damage and regrouped defensively, keeping the Wildcats from adding to their tally. However, the Tigers were unable to generate significant scoring opportunities, as the IWU defense held firm to close out the match with the 5-0 win.

Looking Ahead

ONU will have the opportunity to regroup and bounce back on September 21st as they host the Crimson Wave of Calumet College of St. Joseph. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CST at Snowbarger Athletic Complex.
