
SEVEN TIGERS UNDER 26-MINUTE THRESHOLD AT LOUISVILLE CLASSIC
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Seven members of the Olivet Nazarene University men's cross country team finished under the key 26-minute threshold at the fully-loaded Louisville Cross Country Classic Saturday morning at Tom Sawyer State Park.
Flynn Prather led the charge for ONU. The senior harrier posted a time of 25:06.7 in the 8 km "gold" race, which featured multiple NCAA Division I opponents such as Michigan and Clemson, to finish 78th overall in the 271-runner event. Brandon Armendarez was just a few paces behind at 25:11.7 to place 86th.
Nick Janson nearly cracked the top-100 with a 122nd-place finish at 25:34.0. David Olmos placed 137th with a time of 25:43.1 while Austin Tice rounded out the ONU scoring in 151st place at 25:52.2. Charlie Bardwell and Austin Ruch both eclipsed the threshold at 25:55.2 and 25:58.2, respectively.
The Tigers tabbed a final score of 526 to finish 21st out of 28 teams in the stacked "gold" race, finishing ahead of five NCAA Division I programs in the process (Marshall, Louisville, Tennessee Tech, Northern Colorado, East Tennessee State).
The Tigers will turn around on a short week to compete in the Pilot Invitational on Oct. 11 in South Bend, Ind.
